Noah Korner has always been a competitor. Since the first time he climbed into a quarter midget in 2004, the Canton, CT. native has been all about being the best he can be. In high school, Noah was a three year letterman in both lacrosse and wrestling and through hard work became one of the top 145 pound wrestlers in the state of Connecticut in his senior year.
His journey began at a little race track in Meridian, Connecticut called Silver City. Noah and his family had gone to a friend’s house that bred Labrador Retrievers to purchase a dog and low and behold in the back of the garage sat a quarter midget. It was race car over dog that day and the racing bug had hit the Korner Family. Soon after Noah and his brother Glenn and their Dad, Glenn, were off to the races so to speak. The quarter midget fever lasted for almost ten years with racing at Silver City, Oak Lane in Pennsylvania and the” Little T” track at Thompson Speedway.
“We had a great run in the quarter midgets,” said Korner. “It got to a point where we were winning just about everything so in 2012 so we decided to take a break and focus on school. At the end we actually had more fun helping racers that were not competitive and trying to help them win.”
In 2014 the racing Gods intervened and Glenn’s wife threw him a surprise 50th birthday party and invited a bunch of old quarter midget friends. “They started talking about racing Legends cars and you could see Noah’s eyes light up,” said Dad, Glenn. “I knew at that moment we were going to race…still wonder if my wife regrets that party.”
The Korner Family jumped right in with 2015 being Noah's first full year in Legends. He used the year as a learning curve to prepare him for 2016 and an all out assault on a US Legends Semi-Pro National Championship. Noah’s numbers for 2016 have been quite astonishing with 43 wins to date and realizing his dream of capturing that championship. His journey that started at that small little bullring just down the road from Canton is in full song. In 2017, Noah will compete for the prestigious US Legends Pro Division Championship…and the future looks bright.
